East Lothian Homecoming Golf Classic

It is with considerable sadness but few regrets that we're announcing that after the Highland and Ayrshire events in the next month we will be putting the Scottish Golf Classics into hibernation for a while.

In part it's due to economic circumstances but more related to its position in our own business structure. It's great fun running the Classics but they require personal attention and lots of TLC. More TLC than we have to give and it currently diverts much needed resource - time - from the other areas that need it.

We have a rapidly expanding tourism marketing business with a rapidly growing website division, a fast moving Online reservations system for hotels and also a strong client base for our tourism marketing consultancy. These all demand more and more time and the Classics are unfortunately the casualty.

We're putting the events on ice, not disappearing forever, and that's wholly down to the fact that the best thing about the events over the past ten years has been the golfers.

Every year we meet up with old friends and introduce new players to the event and we want to hold onto the prospect of meeting up again in future years.

So that leaves us with this year's two remaining events - the Highland and then the Ayrshire. We still have some spaces available for both and it would be great if we could attract some previous players (past winners even) to join us at one or both. So if you want to join us at our farewell parties please get in touch and we'll add you for the last time to the start list.

There was only one event held previously in East Lothian back in 2002.
