17th Century Lady Stair's House is home to the Writers Museum which tells the story of Edinburgh's famous literary connections; notably Burns, Scott and Stevenson. Contemporary Scottish authors are also represented in the museum's programme of temporary exhibitions. The museum is off the Royal Mile beside Gladstone's Land, or can be accessed by climbing the stairs left of the 'Carwash' bar on the Mound.
